China is the world’s largest mobile phone market. Every year we manufacture 80% of the world’s smart phone devices and sell 60% of them. Since 2007, numerous manufacturers have continued to accumulate and seek breakthroughs in various key technical links. Just like the Xiaomi MIX full screen in 2017, in the panel industry, China's supply chain has made landmark progress and once again stands at the forefront of world technology.



We all know that mobile phone screens account for a considerable part of the cost of mobile phones. High-quality AMOLED screens have been monopolized by Samsung until the domestic manufacturer BOE breaks the technology blockade and puts into mass production. Since February of this year, first-tier mobile phone manufacturers have begun to use flexible screens made by UTG technology. For example, Samsung’s Galasxy Z Flip in February, and the future smart phone device upgrade routes released by Xiaomi and Huawei, all indicated that they would use UTG as Standard configuration, it can be seen that the flexible screen produced by UTG technology will become a high ground for various smart phone manufacturers in the future, just like the full screen 4 years ago.



So, what is UTG technology? Why do first-tier manufacturers flock to the market and verify on the flagship product line that symbolizes their strongest technical strength and manufacturing results? SEED UTG technology uses chemical etching to cut glass. With traditional cutting methods, such as mechanical cutting or laser cutting, the edges of the glass will be rough after cutting and require multiple repairs, which makes the yield rate extremely low and the investment cost will greatly increase. SEED UTG technology is different. It can not only cut glass into various shapes and sizes, but also does not require subsequent repair and grinding procedures, which greatly reduces production costs. In meeting the key indicators of flexible screens and achieving excellent results in folding tests, this makes large-scale commercial applications of flexible screens possible.



At present, there are only two companies in the world with UTG technology. One is South Korea’s Dowooinsys, which has received capital injection from Samsung. This company currently has a monthly production capacity of 250,000 pieces. With the continuous increase in the application scenarios of flexible screens, It has long been more than just mobile phones, and its valuation has also risen.

The other is China's SEED company. After the plant in Jiangjun County, Anhui Province is put into production, SEED will become the second company in the world with UTG mass production technology. Compared with South Korea’s Dowooinsys, SEED will enhance its competitiveness through lower prices, and will give priority to domestic supply, as well as custom production. This will make the competition in the field of panels, Chinese manufacturers reverse the disadvantages from LCD to AMOLED panels, and for the first time stand on the same starting line with the world's top manufacturers.

Anhui Province, as a strong province with concentrated development of high-tech industries in my country, flexible industrial policies and strong support, has continuously brought us surprises: whether it was investing in BOE with great courage in 2007, after 10 years of development, it was finally successful, or investing in 2014 JAC New Energy Vehicles has become a pole of China's new energy vehicles. The strategic emerging industries of Anhui Province have formed a complete industrial chain, and the coordination of relevant talents, logistics, funds, policies, and scientific research institutions has become more sophisticated. Hefei focuses on building four industrial clusters of new flat panel display and high-end equipment manufacturing industries, new energy and new materials. On August 20 this year, China's second largest general county, Jinzhai County, Anhui Province, which had walked out of 59 founding generals, will officially land at SEED's manufacturing plant.
